Natural blonde hair turning darker?

Alot of kids are born with blonde hair but when they get older it gets darker. Why does this happen? What can you do to prevent it? Thanks

It happens due to genetics. If the parents both have dark hair, then the child will most likely have dark hair, it's the same with eyes. There isn't a whole lot you can do about it, except dye the hair, or have the child run around in the sun constantly. Something another person mentioned was sun in.. A natural hair changer. It usually has hydrogen peroxide and lemon juice in it that helps lighten up the color of the hair.

I have no clue why it happens... My 'rents are against hair dye, so I sometimes use "Sun-In". You can buy it at, like, Wal-Mart and it lightens your hair. After you spray it in, just take a blow-dryer and do your hair until your scalp starts to burn a little. Don't do it too long or you'll be stuck with a sunburned scalp, and those are NOT fun. Trust me, they suck.
