What are ways to get blonde hair??

I know the obvious thing would be to dye it but I'm wondering if any of you know any other ways to get blonde hair, (lemon juice, natural dyes etc etc) Cause I don't want to damage my hair with chemical dyes. And do some dyes not damage your hair as much? What are the names?

blonde is what you get when you take the color OUT of the hair. (as opposed to reds, browns, black, etc. where you deposit color ONTO the hair.) that being said, aside from wearing a wig, your hair is going to end up with some sort of damage...mostly in the form of dryness.

but you can easily beat that with moisturizing shampoos as well as leave in conditioners....the choices are endless. the best thing i can tell you is not to screw around with it at home, but instead, go to a salon (talk to your girlfriends, see where they go and who they like) and discuss it with a pro. since your hair is brown, you'll probably need to blonde it up gradually, otherwise you run the risk of frying your hair, which is exactly what you don't want to happen. i know aveda, off the top of my head, is a very natural ingredient-oriented company, plus their products smell yummy, and oh, p.s.! you can usually schedule a consultation with a stylist for free. i've had blonde hair forever, plus i blow dry and curl/flat iron everyday, and my hair is extremely healthy. it's all about how you take care of it. invest in salon quality products because...you really do get what you pay for. and it's true...life is better blonde ;)

there is a process with poroxide but with all these ways your still gonna chance damaging your hair. Besides with all the stuff you'd have to buy your better off buying hair bleach. So yeah, just dye it. Why take chances with your hair?

Aside from hair dye I've heard rinsing it with lemon jusice to make it lighter.....other than that herbal esseences dosen't damage to much, take it in slow gradual steps. not one color right away to the next.

Going blonde is going to damage your hair regardless of how you do it. You just have a better chance of brown hair turning orange if you use anything at home.

For something like this, you need a professional. Start with highlights and gradually go lighter if that's what you want.

The natural tricks such as lemon juice %26amp; the sun etc only lighten your hair a bit and will not bring you to a full on blonde.

Unfortunately, if you are wanting to go from dark to light there is no natural way to do it.

My suggestion for you would to just go gradually blonde, start out with some heavy highlights and then continue to add them in. This will look more natural and won't damage all of your hair all at once. Plus, the maintanence is a lot lower.

If you have dark hair, and dye all of it blonde- your dark roots will start to show in 2-3 weeks. Did you know Gwen Stefanie has her roots dyed every 2 weeks? That is alot of work!

Sun-In is pretty awesome. It turned my hair from dark blonde to white. You can buy it at Wal Mart on the hair dye aisle. Just spray it in your hair and lay out in the sun or you can use a blowdryer.

I know many people here will tell you ...lemon juice - hydrogen peroxide- blah blah but take it from a hairstylist if your hair is that dark (true brown) nothing but a lifting process that contains some kind of bleach will get your hair blonde. You could get blonde highlights and if done by a professional they won't damage your hair. Bleach is only damaging if left on the hair too long. My hair is bleached platinum blonde but I don't have the first split end because it was done by someone who knew what they were doing. Look at people's hair and find someone with great hair and ask them where they get there hair done. That is the best way to get a hairstylist.Please don't put anything in your hair at home. It will turn it orange. I see it everyday and you will spend more to correct the color than to get it done right the first time.

If your hair is naturally brown and you want it to be blonde, there is absolutely NO way to do it without damaging it. In order to go blonde, you have to strip your natural hair color to a bleach blonde, then dye it the color you want. Imagine pouring bleach all over a black shirt. It turns a crappy color and the fabric is ruined. That's what will happen to your hair. Then you'll have to dye it the color blonde you want, and condition the hell out of it. The best thing to do if you REALLY want blonde hair, is to start getting blonde color weaved into your hair. It'll take forever for it to get all your hair blonde ,but it's the safest way.
