My sister has been trying to dye her blonde hair brown. We rinse and its still the same color! What

I have never seen anything like it! She has kinda dirty blonde hair naturally. With my hair, if I dye it "dark blonde" it turns out kind of a light brown color. I go "light brown" it turns a dark brown color. We have tried both of these on her and its like the dye just washes right off. You can barely tell a difference. Within a week you wouldn't know she'd even tried and we ARE getting the permanent kind! We have left it on the full time and everything. Is it possible to have hair that just won't take color? Is their anything we can go to treat her hair so it will get darker? Or is this just God's way of telling her she needs to stay blonde? (my dads opinion, lol!)

You can strip the color and then dye it, I wouldnt do this at home though, a salon would be the best place this is really unhealthy for your hair, I did this to my blonde hair to turn it brown over 9 years ago and it still is damaged!! I would tell her to keep her natural hair color! She can try to go to a salon and get low lights also, they are a little more gentle on your hair! Good luck!

Try asking the people at a professional salon. They might be able to tell you the problem, and get her a kind of dye that will be more permanant. The problem might be that the type of dye you're using just isn't strong enough to make a difference in her hair.

try it at a salon or as what you're doing wrong

what brands have you tried? are you following the directions, like doing it on dry unwashed hair (thats what my most recent brand had, but i know some can be done on clean hair), are you doing a test strand first? are you waiting at least 24 hours before you wash it next? you're not shampooing after you've colored right? you're just rinsing it out before the conditioner.

try going to a pro if you are doing everything by the books

My hair is resistant to certain dyes too. Like Feria just washes out. So must be the certain chemical mixture that they use. So I would suggest, if you are doing it yourself try- Preference, is a good one. Or take her to Professional, after spending so much money on boxes of dye, you might as well anyhow!

You need to try a hair dye with no ammonia but with peroxide. These are considered 'demi-permanent' hair colors. I think the main problem is that the hair has now been over processed with ammonia based hair dye. You need to stop putting permanent dye over and over.

shave her head, and crotch to match, she will itch a lot until she is lubed with a Tonga, she will survive,,,

why dont you go and have your hair died by a professional it is kind expensive but worth it. You can get it done in most stores like hair masters and regis hairstylists. you can also get it done for permanent color. good luck!
